Nina Hartley’s Guide To Great Sex During Pregnancy

Being seven months pregnant, my first time, I have found the experience to be completely overwhelming on many occasions. Some days I feel wonderful, and others I do not want to get out of bed. My sex drive is similarly up and down, and despite the fact that my husband is a very caring and loving man, it is hard at times to keep things happy, especially sexually.

So watching porn together is the last thing I expected to be doing. To my surprise, however, that is exactly what we did, and it was one of the most beautiful and intimate experiences of our lives.

What we watched was not porn so much as a sexual instructional guide hosted by Nina Hartley. The whole production was total class from start to finish, which honors the pregnancy, both the mother and father to be, and also the relationship. Sex is shown as something to revere at this special time, and it is also a way to increase the connection and love between the parents.

The film begins with Nina Hartley discussing lots of issues with one of the female actors, who is 8 months pregnant herself. They talked about many things that were so very relevant to me, such as libido fluctuations, body image, changes to the body, what to do when sex drives are out of sync etc. I found it so reassuring and comforting to know that she was sharing what I was going through as a pregnant woman. The chat was honest and open, and it was also unscripted.

Then came the first demonstration, which featured Nina Hartley and another of the female actors who was visibly pregnant as well. Nina starts by showing how to sensually stroke and massage the feet and around the breasts, and all over the body, which was wonderfully sweet. Next she performs some light oral sex, and the pregnant woman was obviously enjoying the feelings very much. When Nina produces a strap on I wondered if this highly sensual demonstration was about to take a turn for the more explicit, but the sex that followed was gentle and erotic and showed a couple of the best positions for pregnant women to have sex in. Lastly, Nina uses a vibrator to bring the woman to a genuine orgasm. I loved this scene because of its sincerity and warmth. It was instructional but also very arousing and sensual.

The next demonstration was between a real couple, and featured the first pregnant actress who had the initial chat with Nina. The couple start by admiring the pregnant tummy of the woman in the mirror, stroking it and showing lots of love for each other and the baby-to-come. This was more of your usual sex scene except there was so much intimacy and sensuality between the couple as they perform oral sex on each other. They then have passionate and loving sex in four different positions, again showing the best angles and methods to enjoy penetration during pregnancy.

This movie was amazing, and it has turned our sex life around. Where as before my husband and I were unsure and not communicating about sex during our pregnancy, now we can discuss things openly and we have so much more intimacy.

We realize this can be such a sensual and erotic time as we are sharing the experience together, and by being extra caring and loving towards each other, sex at the moment is even more special than usual. Our feelings have deepened so much for each other, and we are playful and looking forward to the future.

I can very highly recommend this movie to anybody who is pregnant, or thinking about getting pregnant. You should watch it as a couple early in your pregnancy. It is so tasteful and educational that I wish it was promoted during ante-natal classes.
