Mobster’s Ball is an original, superbly made film which features intense and skilfully performed sex that looks absolutely smoking thanks to the 30’s style costumes, locations and props. Throw in a hot looking cast and top shelf production and this one will keep you coming (back) time after time!

Wicked are known for their big budgets and risky cutting edge when it comes to creating some of their high end releases, and Mobster’s Ball shows what that extra effort can achieve. This is another one of those films which would compare favourably with many mainstream cinema releases production wise. Wicked deserve big props for taking the chance, spending the extra budget and creating something sensational.

There is no needless plot to follow; Mobster’s Ball is a series of 30’s gangster inspired vignettes. I love this approach. Personally speaking, the best porn I have seen results from this style. Plots in sex flicks are usually corny, distractive and simply a waste of time. Each vignette, or scene, is inspired and a small story within itself, which is all that is required to make it work beautifully and thread together into a great film.

Brad Armstrong is a XXX directing genius. He captures the sex to absolute perfection by continuously nailing the best camera angle relative to the position…sounds easy, but not something you see very often. The balance of close ups to wider angles works really well and helps you really immerse yourself in each scene. His use of lighting to cast shadows and create atmosphere is absolutely unmatched in XXX. Whilst never being too dark to hinder your enjoyment of the action, the shadows and, at times, almost sepia like tones, just adds another layer of quality to the production.

The settings and costumes are also remarkable. From Bonnie and Clyde style cars and tommy guns, to smart pin stripe suits (especially on the girls…sexy!) and gangster styled fedoras, the attention to detail is spot on. This isn’t a half-assed attempt by a porno company to create a cheap gimmicky setting to place your everyday fuckfest in; Mobster’s Ball goes all the way and convincingly recreates the 30’s look and feel.

The first scene features Jasmine Byrne, Jessica Drake and Brad Armstrong (yes, he is a hands-on director!) getting together after a successful mob hit. We get to enjoy some beautiful girl on girl kissing, some rugged and athletic anal and even some light belt spanking by Brad on Jessica. Great costumes, great setting, great action. What a way to open the show!

Next we find Carmen Hart and Jenaveve Jolie involved in a bank robbery, with poor Tommy Gunn tied to the chair and completely at their mercy. The girls look absolutely delicious in their pin striped suits and fedoras…these are the type of gangsters that Al Capone wished he had working for him. And I am a big fan of Tommy Gunn as well. He plays his part brilliantly, changing from scared victim to powerful stud as the scene progresses. Loved the way he takes Carmen from behind; that is good fucking!

The third scene takes us inside a counterfeiters den with a stunning looking Angel Cassidy soaked through in her tight little white negligee. She reminded me a little of Kim Bassinger in 9 ½ Weeks, one of my favourite films, except of course an X Rated version. I found this scene to be the actual sexiest as a result. Eric Masterson is a hunk in his suspenders and wife beater shirt, complete with bowler hat. Angel’s long and toned legs look absolutely amazing as she gets fucked from behind. The sex is passionate and energetic, and both actors look like they are having the time of their professional lives here. Another great facet of this scene is the atmosphere. To say it is compelling doesn’t do it justice.

Scene four stars Jada Fire, Brian Pumper, Hershel Savage and Ginger Lea and is set inside a “Cotton Club” inspired lounge bar. Jada Fire is the singer, and she and Brian look hot together as they slowly get nasty with one another before a fourway breaks out with plentiful partner swapping. The inter-racial aesthetic appeal makes this scene look fantastic, especially in combination with the costumes. A very nice group scene overall.

In scene five, Brad Armstrong and Tory Lane are moonshiners (underground still operators during prohibition times), and once again their outfits and the setting (rustic cabin in the country) are brilliant. Amazing passion in this one. Tory looks ultra cute in her little beret, and Brad literally tears her clothing off whilst deeply kissing her. Loved the way Brad pours some of the moonshine over his cock for Tory to savour while she performs a hoover-like blowjob on him. Some frenzied anal sex in reverse cowgirl position looks intense! This is another scene with outstanding atmosphere.

Scene six features another fourway between Cherokee, Mia Smiles, Randy Spears and Marco Banderas set is a basement style hideout with pool table and smoky haze. Some nice chemistry all round and lots of partner swaps. I loved the little lapdance Mia gives Randy, and the reverse cowgirl Cherokee performs on Marco. Hot action everywhere you look.

The final scene is an absolute peach, and features loan shark Brook Haven being locked up by guards Chris Canon and Randy Spears. Brooke looks divine in her suit, and her strip tease against the prison bars is just out of this world hot. I mean seriously, seriously sexy…those bars almost melt. Superb visual pleasure and great selection of soundtrack really push this scene to great heights. Brooke is a superb performer and works both cocks like a true pro, taking one from behind and one in her mouth with equal gusto. Also some fine anal on a chair to wrap things up. This one left me literally breathless…I won’t explain further.

If Mobster’s Ball is the level that Wicked now aims for with its top end releases, then consider me a signed up, card carrying fan. I’ve seen a great deal of top quality porn over the last few years and this is well up there for anything being produced currently, be it in the US or Europe. Everything gets the thumbs up and XXX seal of approval from me, with no shortcomings (maybe a little more dirty talk would have been nice, but now I’m just splitting hairs!).

Couples, singles, anyone with a heart beat…if you have any spot for porn in your life, invest what you need to take a look at this film. It is the zenith of XXX right now, in fact, it almost knocks Ninn Worx off the mantle as my favourite porn production house because it isn’t so artistically reliant, and instead just provides a brilliant theme to base each scene around. Visually and atmospherically, it is unmatched. And sex wise, you won’t be left wanting, no matter what your tastes.
